Toilet Twinning is raising funds for FRED Africa to enable people living in poor communities to have clean water, a decent toilet, and to learn about hygiene, a vital combination that prevents the spread of disease, reduces the number of deaths among children, and brings hope for the future.
2.5 billion People that’s 40% of the world’s population don`t have somewhere safe, clean and hygienic to go to the toilet (WHO/UNICEF). The human impact of this scandalous stat is enormous: nearly one in five child deaths each year is due to diarrhea. The good news is you can help change this by twinning your toilet!
For people in poor communities, a hole in the ground is quite literally a life saver ? protecting women from the risk of attack as they find somewhere private to squat, and shielding children from preventable diarrheal diseases.

How it works?
Help flush away poverty by linking your toilet with a latrine in Uganda.
For $100 donation, you can twin your toilet at home, work, school or church with a latrine to make a difference and save lives in rural communities in Uganda.
1. Our teams of field officers work alongside communities with Village Action Team members who are trained by FREDAfrica to promote good hygiene and improve access to decent loos and clean water.

2. You make a donation and receive a certificate of the latrine your toilet has been twinned with, along with its GPS coordinates so you can look it up on Google Maps. You also get a sticker of Sanitation Heroes for Africa. You can have it on your car or at your office.

3. Your donation is used by FREDAfrica to help more families gain access to decent loos, clean water and to promote good hygiene.

4. People enjoy better health; have somewhere safe to go to the loo; children can go to school; and parents are well enough to work and provide an income for their families.
