Like many countries and cities around the world, Uganda has asked its residents to stay home to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, much of FREDAfica’s efforts in Mukono and the surrounding towns has ceased until the stay at home order is over.
We hope to leverage the networks FREDAfrica has access to in order to gather supplies to assemble masks, selling them to those who can afford to purchase them and distributing some for free to those who cannot afford them.
We will work with local police and task forces to distribute masks and soap to those in need, targeting the vulnerable and needy groups in hard to reach areas in Uganda.
